Gramsci, Hegemony and Civil Society in Pakistan is a latest publication analysing, the shrinking space of civil society in public domain.
The Author, Mr Khalid Saif-Ullah is the founding Director of Society for Law and Development, a Phd Scholar and a well-known development practioner with diverse experience, interpreted in this publication.
This book borrows from Gramsci‟s concept of civil society in order to arrange, explain and analyse the experience of civil society in its attempt to implement an overall agenda of engendering human rights, democracy, peace and effective citizenship.
Due to the dominance of NGOs in this field, they will serve as the primary medium of critical analysis in this book whose scope is confined to the modern civil society that carries and promotes a neoliberal agenda.
