Ms. Zakia Rubab holds an MPhil in Anthropology with distinction from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. She is an anthropologist and a development professional with over six years of acknowledged experience in research and advocacy, paper writing, communication, program management and event organization.
She has worked with NGOs/INGOs and think-tanks associated with international donors as Solidarity Center, USAID, Research and Advocacy Fund, The Royal Danish Embassy and Latter Day Saint Charities and Coca-Cola. Her major research interests’ medical discourse, political economy, social issues, global health, women empowerment, gender equality, peace and development, and inclusion of marginalized communities in mainstream. She has worked with Save the Children, Rural Support Programmes Network, FATA Research Center, International Relief and Development and where she has traveled across Pakistan for research, evaluation and communication purposes. She believes in research endeavors coupled with theoretical analysis of the subject matter. Her publications are on Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) crisis in FATA, extremism and radicalization in FATA, biomedical discourse, knowledge, perception and decision making about Cesarean Section in Pakistan, Maternal and Newborn Child Health (MNCH) promotion, Rehabilitation of destitute women in shelter homes, socio-economic challenges faced by
the eunuchs (third gender) and others. Ms. Rubab’s aspiration for humanitarian work is invigorated by diverse experiences, with the aim to augment inclusion of women and marginalized communities in mainstream through communication
and policy interventions. She is passionate to work for community development and sustainability in Pakistan to achieve the SGD goals and meet the global challenges.
