Zarmina Khan holds a BS (Hons) and an MPhil degree in political science from Punjab University, Lahore. She received a distinction for securing 3rd position in BS (Hons). She conducted field surveys as part of her assigned research work on health, education, poverty in slums, and minority rights during her BS (Hons) and MPhil studies. Additionally, her MPhil thesis focused on “Development in the Health Department of Punjab (A Case Study of Hospitals in Lahore 2013-2018).” She continuously writes on current issues of health, education, climate change, gender-based violence and governance in Pakistan at the SLD website.
She has further strengthened her knowledge through internationally recognized certifications, including Foresight Approaches in Global Public Health, by the World Health Organization (WHO); Introduction to Children's Environmental Health, by WHO and UNICEF; MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) Essentials by DisasterReady.org; and Green Fiscal Policy by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
She has expertise in social and political development, with a particular focus on health, education, climate change, gender-based violence and governance. She demonstrates a strong interest in public policy, creative and academic writing, and the planning and management of events and organisational activities. Her leadership and coordination skills were recognised through a certificate of appreciation for successfully organising a 23rd March programme at Government Girls College.
She has been invited to various webinars to present her research. Her notable presentations include being a guest speaker in a webinar to discuss a topic titled “People’s Affiliation with Life Influenced by Media and Its Consequences”, organised by the Physics Department of UMT Sialkot in 2022. Recently, she presented her research paper, titled “Urbanisation Yields Economic Growth Along with Social Disparities, Devastated Agriculture, and Energy Crisis in Pakistan”, published in the Journal of Law and Development (TJLD), at a webinar organised by the Physics Department of UMT Sialkot in 2025.
