
Brief info
Ms Nayyab Ali, a transgender person, is one of the leading and Human rights defenders in Pakistan. She has bachelor’s degree in botany from Punjab university and also did Several diplomas in IR, Islamic Jurisprudence, Dars-e-Nazami. She was a member of Transgender Task Force (Special Committee formed by federal Ombudsman for the review & Recommendation on Transgender Rights Protection bill). She was the member of Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Special committee on the status of Transgender CNIC Registration.
She also has contributed in Transgender rights welfare Policy Punjab; which is available on supreme court website. She was nominated in 2018 by the MOHR for the Co-Opted member of NCSW. She has elected as a CO-Chair of EVAWG Alliance Pakistan. She is first trans woman to chair any alliance of women. Ms Ali, an Acid attack survivor, also serves as the National Coordinator of all Pakistan Transgender Election Network in Pakistan.
She is qualified trainer on Gender & minority inclusion issues. She has delivered trainings to ICT, Punjab & KP Police on gender sensitization. She has also worked with communities on GBV Sensitization. She founded Pakistan’s first transgender school for transgender community in Okara, Punjab with the support of CM Punjab. Due to Lake of funds it didn’t remain sustained. She wants to economically empower transgender community in Pakistan and make them self-eager. That’s why She present some model like Food Chain’’ Chachi Chai Pratha’’ for Older transgender.
She also presented an idea of gift courier service by transgender persons ‘’ Giftloo”. She is first Pakistani Transgender Entrepreneur too. She has also nominated for Young Humanitarian Award by OXFAM. She won Edhi National
Human Rights Defender Award 2019. She has also won Social Work Encouragement Recognition Award for the Inclusion & Diversity, Due to her dedication to the cause of empowering transgender community she has won GALAS award as International Activist for LGBTI by European Leading human rights Organization.
She has drafted Standard operating procedures of Police on Transgender Issues. Which will
notify as national guidelines by MOHR. She has worked with many Organization as development expert like; Aurat Foundation, AM welfare Society, Group development Pakistan, Acid Survivors Foundation and many Trans Lead Organization with multi intl. donor’s funder projects. She has drafted National Guidelines for the police on transgender issues on the request of
IGP Islamabad. Current status of these guidelines is; this document is ministry to be notified. Drafted a mega part of Transgender Welfare Policy on the request of CJP with the collaboration of Punjab Social Protection Authority. As a member of Transgender Task Force, conducted FGDs to finalizes Community inputs for Transgender Rights Protection Act. She also translated transgender rights protection act for the better Understanding of Transgender Rights Protection Act 2018, translated it into URDU, National Language of
Pakistan. She also has developed Charter of Demand on the behalf of transgender community and submitted in Supreme Court of Pakistan.
