Brief info

Mr. Ali Haider is an experienced forester, who retired from Government Service in March 2021. Served in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department, Pakistan for more than 35 years having a strong background in the management of private/ public and state forests for conservation and economic purposes. Also, he has worked in Billion Tree Tsunami Afforestation Project (BTTAP) as a Senior Planning Officer and Monitoring & Evaluation Officer for about 05 years. A pioneer Team member of the Billion Tree Tsunami Afforestation Project. Involved in the Planning Phase, PC-I preparation, and in the monitoring of BTTAP activities. Served as GIS Expert with the Ministry of Transport, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on behalf of Al Ayuni Trading & Construction Company.

He has a diversified service career which includes progressive experience in Sustainable Forest Management, Planning, Monitoring through GIS, Remote Sensing and GPS technology. Using GIS and Remote Sensing technology in Sustainable Natural Resource Management, Village Landuse Planning and Database development. Served in the capacity of Forest Officer, GIS/Remote Sensing Expert, GIS Analyst and Director GIS/Remote Sensing with the Government, National and International organizations like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department, IUCN-Pakistan, Pakistan Forest Institute and Ministry of Transport, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He has been part of various pieces of training such as participation in advanced training course on “Remote Sensing and GIS” organized by SUPARCO at SUPARCO HQ Karachi; participation in training course on “Application of Satellite Remote Sensing/GIS Techniques of Natural Resource Management and Environment” organized by SUPARCO at satellite Ground Station Complex, Islamabad. Moreover, he prepared and documented Landcover Atlas of Pakistan (District-wise) with special reference to natural resources (February 2012), published by Pakistan Forest Institute, Peshawar.
