
Ambassador Ata ul Munim Shahid
Masters in Forestry, Watershed Management (Gold Medalist) – Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations (UK)
Mr. Shahid has 35 years of experience in the government sector, regional and international organizations in various managerial and administrative capacities. He is an expert in public policy, diplomacy, and international development. During his career of over three-decades-long, he held various important office, including:
- Ambassador of Pakistan to Algeria, Mali, and Mauritania from July 2019 – December 2021.
- Remained Pakistan’s D-8 Commissioner from 2017- 2019.
- Deputy Permanent Representative (DPR) to UNESCAP from 2012-2015.
- Assistant Permanent Representative to FAO from 2007-2009.
- Served as Director General (Economic Cooperation & OIC) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from October 2017-July 2019.
- Held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan Mission abroad: Niamey (2000-2004), Rome (2005-2009), Singapore (2009-2011), Bangkok (2012-2015), and Moscow (2015-2017).
- Joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1996 and served at Headquarters as Section Officer (China) (1998), Assistant Chief of Protocol (ACP) (2000 & 2004-2005), Director (South East Asia) from 2011-2012.
- Served as Sub-Division Forest Officer from 1985-1996 at Punjab Forest Department.
